Specialist Technical Author (Transformation Project) | Job in Renfrewshire

  • Technical Writing Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in technical authoring for complex IT projects or products, preferably within a transformation context.

  • Expertise in Documentation: Proficiency in creating comprehensive and accurate documentation, including user guides, training materials, and technical specifications.

  • Knowledge of Technical Software and Hardware: Familiarity with various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite) and hardware systems is required.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.

  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple documentation tasks within tight deadlines, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Agile Methodologies: Understanding and experience applying Agile methodologies in a fast-paced, iterative environment is essential.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contribute to brainstorming sessions, and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to thoroughly review and revise documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Experience with DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture): Familiarity with DITA and XML-based content authoring would be beneficial.

  • Instructional Design Knowledge: Understanding of instructional design principles and learning theories to create engaging training materials would be beneficial.
