Senior Care Assistant | Job in Highland

  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
  • Monitoring and reporting any changes in the health or wellbeing of residents to the relevant healthcare team
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure a seamless delivery of care and support services
  • Mentoring junior staff, promoting best practices, and facilitating ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Participating in regular care reviews and quality improvement initiatives

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant qualification in health and social care (SVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Senior Care Assistant within a residential care setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Providing the highest standard of care to our residents, promoting their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

  • Assisting with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of each resident.

  • Administering medication as required, following strict protocols and guidelines.

  • Building strong, positive relationships with residents and their families, understanding individual needs and preferences.

  • Leading a team of care assistants, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure the delivery of exceptional care.

  • Documenting resident's care plans and any changes in health or wellbeing effectively and efficiently.

  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and social workers, to ensure holistic care for all residents.

  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents.

  • Contributing to the creation of activities and events that promote social interaction and mental stimulation among our residents.

  • Actively participating in ongoing professional development, staying updated with best practices in senior care.

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Care Assistant or similar role within the care sector.

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is essential.

  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong emphasis on empathy and understanding.

  • A kind, compassionate nature, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and their families.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and bank holidays as required.
