Power Systems Test Engineer | Job in Sutton
Power Systems Knowledge: Extensive understanding of power systems, including generation, transmission, and distribution networks. Familiarity with power system components such as transformers, generators, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
Test Engineering Experience: Proven experience in designing, implementing, and analyzing test plans for power systems. Proficiency in various testing methodologies, tools, and software (e.g., SCADA, DERMS, PowerWorld, ETAP).
Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and guidelines (e.g., IEEE, NERC, etc.). Ability to ensure compliance with these standards during the testing process.
Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex power system issues effectively. Capacity to identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions.
System Integration Experience: Experience in integrating distributed energy resources (DER) into power systems, including solar panels, wind turbines, and energy storage systems.
Automation & Control Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with control systems and automation technologies used in power grids. Ability to develop and implement smart grid solutions.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, project managers, and other stakeholders. Ability to lead cross-functional teams when necessary.
Adaptability: Flexibility in adapting to changing project requirements and priorities. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
