Factory Operative | Job in Lincolnshire
Key Responsibilities:
Operation and Maintenance of Machinery: Maintain and operate factory machinery efficiently to ensure production targets are met. Perform routine checks and report any malfunctions to the supervisor for immediate attention.
Quality Control: Inspect products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they meet the required quality standards. Identify and report any defects or discrepancies immediately.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues. Report any potential hazards or accidents promptly.
Stock Management: Assist in the management of raw materials and finished products, ensuring inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels. Participate in stocktaking activities when required.
Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment by adhering to the factory's housekeeping policies. Report any spills or damage to supervisors immediately.
Documentation: Complete necessary documentation accurately and on time, including production records, quality control reports, and safety incident reports.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, offering suggestions for improving factory processes, reducing waste, and increasing efficiency.
Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to meet production targets and maintain a positive working environment. Provide support to colleagues when necessary.
Compliance with Policies: Understand and adhere to the company's policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, punctuality, conduct, and dress code policies.
Training: Attend and actively participate in all required training sessions to improve your skills and knowledge. Stay updated on changes in machinery, production methods, and quality standards.

Experience in a Manufacturing Environment: Prior experience working in a factory or similar environment will be advantageous but is not essential.
Basic Numeracy and Literacy Skills: Able to read and interpret work instructions, understand production targets, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Flexibility: Ability to work during various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or overtime when required.
Mechanical Understanding: Basic understanding of machinery and equipment used in the factory will be beneficial.
Qualification in a Relevant Field: Having a relevant vocational qualification such as NVQ Level 2 in Manufacturing Operations or similar would be advantageous but is not essential for the role.
